Forever in our hearts
In 2020 Dania was diagnosed with HER2 breast cancer. She went through chemo, radiation, and a double mastectomy. We thought we beat it. But in 2022 we found out the cancer had spread to her brain.
She fought again. She lost mobility. Developed dementia. And still, she stayed kind. Still, she smiled.
Five days ago I sat beside her in the hospital. I held her hand. I thanked her. I promised to be the best uncle her kids could ever ask for.
Then we lost her.
